ADHD & a developing brain.

Understanding your own brain can help you make a plan that works for you.

Different needs. Real support.

What is ADHD?

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is a neurodevelopmental condition: it affects how the brain develops and works. It can make directing attention, organizing tasks, waiting, or pausing before acting harder.

Some people mainly have attention difficulties, some mainly feel restless or impulsive, and some have both. Everyone’s pattern is different. Effective treatments and practical support can help.

ADHD does not decide your choices or your future. You can build skills and ask for support.

More ADHD symptoms were linked with starting vaping.

The level of symptoms mattered. An ADHD diagnosis by itself did not automatically mean a higher chance of starting vaping.

What did the ADHD study measure?

This analysis followed US PATH study participants from 2013–14 to 2023. The vaping-start analysis included 12,091 baseline nonusers. Researchers assessed four ADHD symptoms and accounted for several other differences. Diagnosed participants with no screened symptoms did not have significantly higher odds of starting than controls.

This observational study cannot establish cause and effect, medication benefits, or extra nicotine brain injury in ADHD.
