Prefrontal cortex

The prefrontal cortex (PFC) is the front part of the brain, just behind your forehead. It helps you plan, hold goals in mind, weigh consequences, and manage impulses. It works with other brain regions.

What that can look like

“This project is due Friday. What should I do first?”

Your PFC is already working. During adolescence, its structure and connections continue developing; practice and experience also matter.
